Adrienne MacDonald RP (Q)

Registered Psychotherapist (QUALIFYING)

I bring a deeply compassionate, grounded presence to my work, shaped by more than a decade of supporting individuals and families through periods of transition, vulnerability, and change. With an extensive background as a postpartum doula and as a certified Baby-Led Sleep and Well-Being Specialist™, I have supported many families through the tender early stages of parenting, helping them navigate the complexities, joys, and emotional challenges of caregiving.

My clinical experience includes working with individuals navigating pregnancy, birth, and postpartum transitions; parenting overwhelm; anxiety, depression, crisis, and trauma; complex mood concerns; and recovery from narcissistic abuse. I have worked with people across the lifespan and from diverse backgrounds, including members of the LGBTQ2S+ community. I am deeply committed to creating an inclusive, affirming, and emotionally safe therapeutic space.

Whether I am supporting new parents as they adjust to family life, walking alongside someone healing from childhood or relational trauma, or helping an individual find steadiness during a major life transition, I offer a calm, attuned, and non-judgmental presence. My goal is to create a space where clients feel seen, understood, and supported as they move toward greater self-compassion, resilience, and healing.

Experience & Approach

Adrienne MacDonald is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Ethics, Society and Law, as well as Gender, Race and Class Studies, from the University of Toronto. She brings over a decade of experience as a certified Postpartum Doula and Baby-Led Sleep and Well-Being Specialist™, having worked closely with families in their homes during the postpartum period, supported parents navigating sleep and caregiving challenges, and facilitated parenting support groups.

Adrienne’s therapeutic approach is integrative, relational, and trauma-informed. She draws from narrative therapy, Internal Family Systems-informed work, somatic awareness, and mindfulness-based practices. Her work is further informed by her yoga teacher training, which supports her ability to integrate mindfulness, breathwork, and gentle body-based awareness into sessions as appropriate. This training enhances her ability to help clients reconnect with their bodies, deepen awareness of the mind-body connection, and develop practical grounding tools they can use outside the therapy room.

Adrienne prioritizes emotional safety, collaboration, and respectful, supportive pacing. Sessions are tailored to each client’s unique needs, with a focus on cultivating self-compassion, deepening self-understanding, and fostering meaningful connection.
